ACIVICS Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy located at the central shopping center of The Thornebrook Village in Gainesville, Florida. ACIVCS Pharmacy is an easily accessible pharmaceutical care center staffed with providers that specialize in high-quality patient-centered care. One of the Hallmarks of ACIVICS Pharmacy is the services patients can access and receive from it. These services include immunizations, medication therapy management, same-day delivery, blister-packaging, low-complexity non-sterile compounding, collaborative drug therapy management, resources for substance use disorders and its prophylaxes, wellness consultations, and products. Our service is to the community and the public, both young and old, needing pharmaceutical help and resources for health and well-being.

Our staff are highly trained providers (PharmDs, former PGY-2 psychiatric pharmacy residency director, with MBA degree and clinical research practitioners) with over 55 combined years of experience in pharmaceutical care services in the Veterans Administration (VA) healthcare systems, CVS, and Walmart pharmacies.

The ACIVICS Pharmacy is agile, seeking creative solutions that add value to the health and well-being of our patients and community. About the Owner

Dr. Acholonu Jr. is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (retired) in Psychiatry at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Administration (VA) healthcare system. His high school certificate is from Emekukwu High School, Imo State, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc.) and Master of Science (MSc.) in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Oregon State University, his Doctorate degree in pharmacy (PharmD), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Florida. He is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP) and has broad experience in pharmacy practice, including outpatient pharmacy practice, sterile product compounding, general clinical pharmacy practice, and specialty pharmacy practice in psychiatry and neurology. He was the Director of the Postgraduate year-2 (Pgy-2) Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program, an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Florida, and an Interim Chief of Pharmacy Services. In addition, he worked for Walmart Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Healthcare Consultant and worked for CVS and Winn Dixie Pharmacies.

Dr. Acholonu Jr. is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists (ACCP), College of Psychiatry and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American Pharmaceutical Association (APHA), Florida Pharmacy Association and National Community Pharmacies Association (NCPA).

Dr. Acholonu Jr. is recognized by the VA with outstanding performance awards and special advancement awards. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in America and received the Who’s Who Lifetime Achievements award. He participates in community organizations helping people who are unprivileged and with needs nationally and internationally. He made donations and participated in a free medical mission through the Willy-Esther Foundation in support of poor communities’ healthcare. Dr. Acholonu Jr. is the founder and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The ACivics Pharmacy, Inc.

At leisure, Dr. Acholonu Jr. likes experiential dialogue with great professors from The Teaching Company in religion, philosophy, history, and the sciences through audio and video formatted lectures. He is married to Ezioma, an RN, with two children, Ikenna and Ezioge, a computer engineer and an RN, respectively.
